A question about water |
Lead | |
|
How long can a glass of water sit out in the open (like on your work desk) before becoming unsafe to drink? If there's no actual algae growing in it, you
should be good, right?

How long are you talking?
Smell it. If there's a funk, don't drink it. loving you is like slipping into a warm bath |

I double dog dare you to drink it.
What if the hokey pokey really IS what it's all about? |

is there a layer of dust on the top? has it visibly evaporated? (depending on the hardness of the water, there will be deposits on the side of the glass as the
water evaporates)
is there stuff at the bottom of the glass? (sediment, cigarette butts, small animals/insects) if you answered YES to any of those questions, I'd go get a fresh glass of water.
I'd love it if you stuck your Willy Wonka between my Oompa
Loompas.

Hmm, I actually had already drank the water before I posted. And I feel fine still. How long are you talking?2 days I think. I haven't had great smelling abilities for awhile because of allergies. so I guess it smelled fine. Layer of dust? Not that I can see, but its a deep glass (64 oz) and the water was only about 1/3 of the way up. Visibly evaporated? I don't recall the level it was at when I was last drinking it. The cup is a kinda styrofoamy texture and white, so I can't see any residue. There is no visible stuff at the bottom. So I'm good? |

IDP, you are getting as lazy as me. That is scary. Now, never drink a drink in a public place you have not kept your eye on ! People are evil these days, and
they could have put drugs in your drink. Don't even accept a soft drink can if they open it, open it yourself. And don't tell me, yeah, but i know them
really well etc. Most people are killed by someone they know.

If you have to ask, it's been sitting out too long.

I don't know anyone. Who's going to kill me?
The preceding message was a paid advertisement for Buns of Steel.

Dammit. I thought Gobby was planning to roofie ME. :(
There should be so much chlorine in your tap water as to render it a hostile environment for microbes. "What went wrong was everything."

If the water was sitting on your work desk I think the chances that someone dipped their balls in it are too great to risk drinking it no matter how safe it
may be otherwise.
